RUNNING
So why have I (or lately, why haven't I...) been running? That's not under any of the 10 laws! (Technically I'm counting it as part of my "slow moving" as my heart rate is still within the range specified by Mark.) Monique and I are doing the Copper River Bridge Run in Charleston, SC in April.

It's a HUGE 10K run over an amazing bridge in downtown Charleston. Last year I finished in 1:32 (After a list of excuses and knee injuries I trained maybe 5-10 times), this year my goal is 1:15 (which I know is still slow, like a 12 minute mile, but did you see the bridge, and this picture doesn't do it justice, it's a LONG uphill! (Oh no, I just checked the website and the countdown said 36 days!!! I need to get on it!!!)
My day, myself, our friend Angie, Monique and my brother Zach after the run.
LUNCH OUT
I almost always bring leftovers for lunch, it's easy, but Tuesday evening we had leftovers for dinner leaving me lunch-less. I could have used this as the perfect opportunity to satisfy a greasy food craving (though I don't have any right now, the horror of my last gluten filled food adventure is still fresh in my mind...) but instead I went to my FAVORITE lunch spot... the grocery store! I love picking up random food for lunch. Yesterday I got a (discount-SCORE!) veggie bowl and 2 packs of beef sticks.

(Pardon the super crummy phone pic) I know the beef isn't organic or grass fed, blah, blah, blah but it's still a million times better than McDonalds! What are some other choices: yogurt, bananas or apples and a packet of almond butter, lunch meat, this is a perfect opportunity to try the weird looking fruit or veggie you walk past, the options are endless! And I paid $5! (Plus I had leftover veggies that I ate for lunch today).
CALORIES
One more random thought, and not that this journey is one geared towards weight loss, but after 3 weeks of eating right and working out and the scale hasn't moved, something is off. And I know for some people it's just takes a few weeks, I'm not one of those. So I decided to track my calories, macros and daily weight and I found the problem. I was undereating! Not intentionally, trust me. I can eat and I was, but eliminating grains really eliminates a lot of calories. So I've been eating more and the scale has been moving. Just a thought if you're in the same spot.
